CALENDAR ANNOUNCEMENT: February 22, 2010 CONTACT: Diane Johnson, Publicity Chair, Friends of Washington Oaks: (386) 446-6783    Washington Oaks GArden State PArk Plant Sale   ---Friends of Washington Oaks will hold Second Saturday Plant Sale March 13th---   The Friends of Washington Oaks will hold their Second Saturday plant sale on March 13th from 10:00 am till 2:00 pm.  The danger of frost is past and it is now time to replant and prepare for Spring. Our plant sale features unusual and hard to find plants for your home, patio or garden.   Visitors will find Florida Natives including coral bean, crinum lily, duranta, fire bush, prickly pear.  additional plants include African violets, cactus, cleradendrum, desert rose, flap jacks, ferns, ficus, hoyas, variegated jade, knock out roses, orchids, oriental garden dishes, pagoda, philodendrons, pony tail palm, Rex Begonias, scented geraniums, schefflera, stag horns, and succulents.  A portion of the plants were propagated and grown in the park by volunteers.  All proceeds benefit the park for enhancement of current and new facilities.   Regular park entrance fees apply during the plant sale.  For more information contact  Melissa Kafel at 386-446-6783, or email melissa.kafel@dep.state.fl.us.   The event will take place:   10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. March 13, 2010 Washington Oaks Gardens State Park 6400 N.
